Support Indianapolis Artists!
Storefront Theatre of Indianapolis is a professional, not-for-profit theatre company based in Broad Ripple that is focused on new plays by underrepresented playwrights. Storefront stages productions in the style of Chicago storefront theatres: with small and intimate settings; raw, and underscored by emotional truth.
In American theatre, there is a significant racial and gender imbalance happening behind the scenes. According to The Count (a 2015 diversity study commissioned by the Lilly Awards and The Dramatist Guild), 63% of all professional U.S. productions were by American white men. Storefront's mission is to seek out plays by female, minority and LGBTQIA playwrights in order to give them professional productions executed in the classic and intimate Chicago storefront style -- putting audiences as close as possible to the stories, the storytellers and to each other.
Storefront pays fair wages to actors, directors, designers, stage managers and playwrights. We also do not take commissions from our gallery artists.
Storefront admissions are donation-only in order to increase access and inclusion to our performances.
Your gift brings exciting and important new plays to Indiana, and supports the professional artists that bring them to life.
